Changing the appearance of Plymouth

I was changing the appearance of ubuntu. one of them is the appearance modifiers Plymouth. Sample plymouthnya we can download from the site gonome-look.org. as an example I use linuxMint Plymouth. Ok let's start

  • The first is downloading the Plymouth
  • Extract the files that we downloaded into the folder / lib / Plymouth / themes /
cd folder LinuxMint.zip

sudo unzip linuxmint_lmint_plymouth_theme_by_killhellokitty-d3073z5.zip -d /lib/plymouth/themes/

  • Run the following command so that we can choose who we want in Plymouth alternative default.plymouth later
sudo update-alternatives --install /lib/plymouth/themes/default.plymouth default.plymouth /lib/plymouth/themes/Lmint/Lmint.plymouth 100
  • The next step is to choose which one to Plymouth's enable
 sudo update-alternatives --config default.plymouth

Select Plymouth that you want by typing a number in the "selection status". In the example I type the number 1

  • The last time we run the following command to enforce Plymouth we choose
sudo update-initramfs -u

Congratulations you have changed Plymouth
